Backend engineering and architecture experience on projects involving waipu.tv and RTL+, through Exaring and inovex.
Software engineering · architecture · enablement
I’m a generalist software engineer who enjoys moving between domains, technologies, and roles wherever I can help solve a problem. My background spans backend and mobile development, creative software, infrastructure, and applied AI.
I’m often drawn to the problems that don’t have an obvious owner yet: figuring out what needs to be done, finding a practical approach, and helping others move forward.

As a sci-fi and cyberpunk fan, I’m having the time of my life. I see LLMs as a kind of alien intelligence: something unfamiliar to explore, communicate with, and learn to make use of. Like Louise Banks in the movie Arrival, my instinct is to make contact.
I do feel the loss of writing code by hand. But I’m also excited about what’s becoming possible. As coding becomes less of a bottleneck, the hard questions shift: what should we build, and how do we know it actually works?
For me, that means treating verification as a continuous and partially automated process, not just a vague human-in-the-loop mandate. AI-generated systems and workflows need to be measured, evaluated, monitored in production, and corrected over time. As William Gibson put it, “The future is already here - it’s just not very evenly distributed.” I’m glad to be part of figuring out how to build with it.
Career
Part of the Content Discovery team at waipu.tv, building backend services for key user-facing features including the app’s home screen and search. Helped establish advanced CI/CD for the backend team. I also facilitate the company’s AI Guild, helping colleagues explore, evaluate, and adopt AI tools.
Engineered user-facing backend services for RTL+, a streaming platform serving more than five million customers. Prepared services for go-live through extensive load testing, performance analysis, and optimization of backend systems across multiple teams. Alongside this, I provided technical mentoring for working students building Mission Control Paramedic.
Worked on geospatial features for the PACE Android app with algorithms for road snapping, navigation, and geofence handling.
Developed an interactive audio guide for the Museum of Modern Art’s Björk exhibition, combining a custom C++ audio engine with authoring software built as a DAW plugin. Integrated iBeacon-based indoor positioning to connect the visitor experience with the exhibition space. My work also included mobile and web applications, interactive audio experiences, and interactive spatial sound for corporate showrooms, including software for Volkswagen of America’s Sound Journey Android app.
Developed the iOS music app De Motu, backend components for the Not Without Us web application, and “Heckerhut” during the Code for Culture game jam.
